Theiss brings more than 25 years of industry experience
to growing global construction & logistics company
San Juan Construction (SJC) specializes in large, government construction projects for the U.S. Navy and Air Force in remote, logistically challenging locations in the Pacific and Indian oceans. The company has offices in Colorado, Hawaii, the Philippines, the Marshall Islands and Diego Garcia.
Theiss brings more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, much of which was focused on public infrastructure construction projects and federal government contracts. He spent five years as vice president for Nab Construction, a New York-based prime contractor specializing in government project.
Prior to joining San Juan Construction (SJC), Theiss was a partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP where he built a substantial construction industry practice. While at Dorsey, Theiss served as the company’s outside legal counsel for nearly 10 years.
“This is an exciting time for our company for a couple of reasons,” Theiss said. “First, we’ve built a strong business in robust and growing global markets that will see significant investment in infrastructure in the coming years. We established ourselves as one of the dominant players in these markets and are looking to expand our footprint into other remote locations.
“Second, as an employee-owned company, San Juan is driven by the energy and enthusiasm of our entire team, top to bottom, and that’s a beautiful thing. I think I speak for all of my fellow shareholders when I say that I can’t wait to see where we go from here.”
