Design/Build - Mirror Coating Facility (MCF) at the Maui Space Surveillance Site.  This performance-based project was a fast-track design/build contract for an on-site mirror coating facility (approx. 9,000 SF) required to support the Advanced Electro-Optional System (AEOS) telescope.  The MCF provides accommodations for the transporting, staging, removal, coating, and recoating of three, five meter diameter telescope mirrors.  Also included are spaces for science and technology laboratories.  Construction is at a remote site at an elevation of 10,000 feet.  The project also includes site work consisting of site planning, clearing, grading, erosion control, site drainage, utility systems, pavements, pedestrian and vehicular circulation systems and physical security measures.  Connection to the adjacent existing AEOS fire protection system, sewer and water system, security system and electrical system is included.
