FY07 MDAM PN 571 Launch Control Facility Life Safety Upgrades (LCF), Meck Island
Scope of Work: The Launch Control Facility construction involves the installation of fire sprinklers, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and fire-rated doors; and construction of egress corridor walls and stairway emergency egress. Included with the installation of the fire sprinklers is the demolition/removal of office partitions to convert the area from administrative to bulk storage. Also included is the replacement of the built-up roofing and rain catchment systems, including all flashing and counter flashing. Construction includes all new electrical, communications and waterlines to support the new fire protection and suppression system. Additionally, new air conditioning systems (self-contained units) of up to 20 tons will be provided.
