Army Reserve Center, Ft. Shafter Flats, Honolulu, Hawaii

This 2-year project consists of two buildings: 1. a two-story 300-member Training Center; and 2. the Unheated Storage, UHS, located at Ft Shafter Flats, Honolulu, Hawaii. Features of work include demolition; earthworks, HMA for roads, concrete and masonry works; structural steel and steel decking; rough and finish carpentry; elastomeric roofing, insulation EIFS, fire-stopping and standing seam metal roofing; doors, windows, overhead coiling doors and grilles, and metal wall louvers; wet pipe sprinkler system, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, and electronic security.

Utilities include water distribution and sanitary sewers, storm drainage utilities, underground electrical distribution system, overhead transmission and distribution and outside plant telecommunications. Specialties include visual communications, recessed display cases, interior and exterior signage, cabinets, lockers and shelving; seismic protection for mechanical, electrical and miscellaneous equipment.

Special equipment to be installed includes dock levelers and bumpers, projection screens, and hydraulic elevator. The project includes Privately Owned Vehicle, POV, parking areas. Supporting facilities include site preparation, paving, fencing and extension of utilities to serve. LEED requirements include construction activity pollution prevention, building energy systems and performance; refrigerant management; storage and collection of recyclables; minimum IAQ performance and ETS controls.
