2006

San Juan Construction was recognized by the U.S. Navy for reaching ‘Two Million Safe Work Hours’ at our Diego Garcia operation.  In a ceremony on February 1, 2006, attended by senior naval staff, San Juan Construction proudly announced the milestone to visitors, friends and employees.

In April 2006, the Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu Engineer District, presented an Award for Safety Excellence to San Juan Construction in recognition of exemplary safety management during construction of a hybrid photovoltaic/diesel energy system at Kwajalein Atoll.  The Corps noted that San Juan Construction’s commitment to providing a safe working environment and motivating staff to employ safe working practices contributed immeasurably to the timely completion of this quality project.

2005

The Hawaii chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC Hawaii) awarded San Juan Construction a Gold STEP Award for its work at the Pohakuloa Training Area.

2002

San Juan Construction was named Contractor of the Year for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pacific Ocean Division.  As such, San Juan Construction was noted as being the best of the best from the four Corp Districts within the Division; i.e., Honolulu, Alaska, Japan and Far East (Korea) Districts.  They were one of only eight contractors worldwide receiving this recognition.

1998

Two 1998 Excellence in Construction Awards were presented to San Juan Construction by the Hawaii Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors.

SJC replaced the boathouse at the U.S. Coast Guard Station, Honolulu, Hawaii, for which it received the Judges’ Grand Award for Government Projects.

SJC was awarded the Heavy Industrial Award for the Enclosure and Support Facility Buildings, Gemini Telescope, Mauna Kea, Hawaii.

1996

The 1996 STEP Award was presented to SJC by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. in recognition of Safety Program Development.
